If that wasn’t the biggest red flag to backers then I don’t know what would be. After raising $275 million from fans, the developers decided they needed even more money and sought out private investors.

It’s hard to understand why anyone has faith in this game anymore. Obviously, this is completely impossible. To live up to 9 years of development time, Star Citizen is going to need to cure all diseases, give all backers their money back, and then get a perfect 10 from every reviewer. I mean if Rockstar can produce one of the most popular games of all time with less money over 3 years, then Cloud Imperium should be producing something unbelievable.

Considering it’s been in development for nearly a full decade, that’s hardly surprising. Star Citizen is a game that holds a lot of promise. | Source: Roberts Space Industries Star Citizen Is Going to Disappoint You I can’t imagine that many fans out there are holding out hope for any reason other than wishing their money isn’t wasted on backing this vaporware. So why on earth did Star Citizen just get another $17.25 million from investors?Īt this point, Cloud Imperium needs to just stop looking for money and actually produce something tangible. To put that in perspective, the most expensive game of all time was GTA V with $265 million for a budget.

Despite this, Cloud Imperium, the team behind the game, has managed to raise over $320 million. In the past 7 years, we’ve not got all that much from the game. Star Citizen is a game lots of people have been waiting for since 2013. Having just secured another $17.5 million, someone needs to tell Star Citizen to stop.Since then it raised over $275 million in private crowdfunding alone, with further cash from private investors.Star Citizen is a game that was originally crowdfunded back in 2013 and hit an impressive goal of over $2 million. However, it is possible that this video spurs Cloud Imperium into revealing more about his game. As for the base game, however, the build currently on the market is still not final and no date has been announced for its final version. As a result, it is possible that the wait to see this new content on Star Citizen will still be long. Although the build shown in the video offers a strong visual impact, as mentioned the stability does not seem at the top of the performance. However, unlike titles like No Man’s Sky (which you can find on Amazon) the game is mostly multiplayer and Cloud Imperium has no plans to totally alter its creature with something that is exclusively single-player.Īs for the launch of Squadron 42, however, we do not yet have certain information. We only know that Squadron 42 is intended to focus primarily on a single player campaign. The details on its contents are not yet many.

If it manages to maintain this level of detail even in its final version, Squadron 42 for Star Citizen would become one of the most visibly beautiful content of this generation of video games. The roundup of places and characters that we can witness, in fact, has a truly impressive graphic rendering. Many frame drops, in fact, slightly compromise the sensational visual impact of the diffused images. The various game phases and settings shown have a decidedly remarkable workmanship which, however, shows a state of work still far from perfection. The leak shows several scenes taken from the Star Citizen game engine taken, in fact, from the first of the additional contents intended to enrich the title. In fact, in the last few hours, a video of about nine minutes has leaked online showing the single-player mode of Squadron 42, the first expansion of the Cloud Imperium game. After about ten years since the crowdfunding campaign began, in 2012, and many months since the last official updates, Star Citizen finally has its first gameplay video for the single player, more or less.
